 Assistant Park Ranger
Type of Appointment:
(1) 2, 3-month positions
Seasonal, 40 hours/week; Memorial Day - Labor Day
(2) 1, 6-month
position Seasonal, 40 hours/week; Memorial Day - November 30, 2005
Wage: $7.25/hour
Description of Work: Work involves the preparation and
presentation of interpretive programs, talks and hikes for the general public
and school groups. The opportunity to research and create other suitable and
applicable programs exists. Assistant Rangers will be visible to park visitors
and answer visitor questions and inquiries. Some light maintenance duties are
required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Good communication and
organizational skills and the ability to research and develop educational
programs. Have the ability to work independently without close supervision.

Clerk Typist
Type of Appointment:
1 position Seasonal, 40
hours/week; April 15 - October 15
Wage: $6.75/hour
Description of Work: Assist office staff with visitor
center operations. Answer telephones, take messages, and schedule programs.
Clerk Typist will be visible to park visitors and provide them with requested
information. Assist with the general maintenance and upkeep of the visitor
center and museum. Occasional staffing of visitor center gift shop is required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Good communication and
organizational skills. Have the ability to work independently without close
supervision.

 General Utility
Worker
Type of Appointment:
(1) 3 month position
Seasonal, 40 hours/week; Memorial Day - Labor Day

Wage: $6.75/hour
Description of Work: Work involves the upkeep and
general maintenance of park grounds and facilities. Employee will be operating
a riding lawn mower, weed eaters and various power and hand tools. Employee
will assist park maintenance mechanic with projects. Employee will be visible
to park visitors and answer visitor questions and inquiries.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Some experience with the
operation of mowing equipment and hand and power tools. Have the ability to
lift approximately 50 pounds. Ability to follow oral, written, and visual
instructions. Have the ability to work independently without close supervision.
